Launch Party - CBSAC/BA & University Club

At our Launch Party Dinner we celebrate our new partnership with the University Club and invite alumni to a stimulating keynote address by Jeff Goodman about volunteering, a light reception and a practical mixer.
Event Date: Wednesday, September 16th, 2009 at 6:30pm

  Dining Room - University Club

Much has changed with our Bay Area club in the last year.  We launched a new website and now have a strategic partnership with the University Club - our new home in San Francisco.  With so much good news, we thought we should celebrate.

September 16th will be the official launch party of our partnership with the University Club - a regal establishment on the corner of Powell and California on Nob Hill in San Francisco.  Over dinner we will enjoy impressive views of the San Francisco skyline and appreciate these new surroundings as our new home base in the City.

Our speaker for the evening will be Jeff Goodman - VP of Sales of AlumniMagnet, the highly successful alumni community-building web platform, author of an upcoming book on running successful associations and alumni clubs, and president of Wharton's strongest alumni club.  Speaking from his personal experience working with hundreds of alumni associations and volunteer organizations, as well as from his own role as the president of the very successful Wharton Club of Northern California, Jeff will share choice nuggets of advice on how we too can build our club up to a position of extraordinary strength.

For anyone interested in seeing the Columbia Business School Alumni Club of the Bay Area succeed and prosper, this is a rare opportunity not to be missed.

Our own Dani Grindlinger will report on the results of the survey we took earlier in the spring, and the chairs of our different industry committees will introduce themselves and invite each attendee to find them during the mixer to network and brainstorm activities for the future.  This will be a unique opportunity to connect with the many facets of our alumni community and plug into our strengthening network.

Where possible, we invite committee members to take the opportunity to brainstorm event possibilities for the coming year.

The backbone of a successful alumni organization is a strong calendar of events that reflect the interests of its membership and which support their personal and professional aspirations.  By the time the evening ends, we hope to have a strong head start into next year with a number of candidate events for the coming year across a number of industries.

Attendees are invited to linger after the event to network at the no-host bar.
